Essential Oils Allergy trio

These guys right here...

They are my JAM!!
We are diffusing these bad boys daily and rubbing it on our feet as well.  Kiddos are sleeping well AND an added bonus is it has helped with my husbands snoring :).

If you would like to order a kit please follow the directions below!  If you would like to know more please leave a comment with your email address and i'll be happy to share more info!

If you do order a kit make sure to order the premium starter kit...it is the only one that comes with oils and a diffuser.  That diffuser is friggin awesome by the way!!!  My faves right now to diffuse are the allergy trio and the stress away (which comes in the kit)!

Here are the step by step directions:
Step 1: go to https://www.youngliving.com/signup/?site=US&sponsorid=2636414&enrollerid=2636414
Step 2: make sure “Young Living Independent Distributor” is marked off instead of “Retail Customer.” Independent Distributor means “member” to Young Living and it’s the only way to get access to the kit and the 24% discount you get afterwards. It’s really important!
Step 3: make sure my member numbers are in the blanks (they should be entered in there for you if you entered with that link in step 1)2636414
Step 4: Fill out all the information. It will ask you for your ss# but this is only for legal purposes so that you have the ability to bring in a paycheck (YL is a referral based business). If you never sign anyone up, your ss # will never be used. Lemon Droppers do not pressure people into the business end…EVER. We want you to use and love your oils and we love you as a member whether you work the business end or not.
Step 5: Make sure you write down your pin, user name and password when you choose it because you’ll need that in the future to log into your account.
Step 6: Select the “PREMIUM START LIVING KIT” This is the one with the everyday oils kit and the diffuser and the start living kit. It will be $150. The other kits do not include the oils kit.
Step 7: Scroll down through the “Essential Rewards Kits” and click “no thank you, I plan on enrolling in Essential Rewards later” (you are not obligated to sign up for Essential Rewards at this time, but it does have some great benefits, but to be honest, I always tell my new members to get the kit, try the oils out, and then talk to me before your NEXT purchase. We then we will see if ER is right for you and your family).
Step 8: Click “I Agree” and “Next”
Step 9: Confirm your enrollment information (you should see my name as your enroller and sponsor, or the person who referred you).
Step 10: Add any oils, capsules, or products that you would like in addition to your kit if there are any that you would like.
Step 11: Check out and you are DONE! WOOHOO!

Becoming an oiler

Yep, you read that right!  We have ventured into the world of oils and I am so glad that we did!  What got me interested in trying them was looking over the past year at the amount of Tylenol, Motrin, and antibiotics my kids had to take.  Now I am still pro modern medicine, but I believe in trying the oils first instead of defaulting to medicine.  What I am finding is that we are needing Tylenol/antibiotics less and less!!  Mission medicine cabinet redo has begun :).
I started with the premium starter kit pictured below.

The kit comes with everything you see above and a booklet that explains what each oil does!  And that diffuser is friggin amazing!!  If you are interested in starting to use oils this is where I highly recommend you begin!  Make sure to get the premium starter kit because it is the only one that come with oils.

If you'd like to get a kit you can use this link here: https://www.youngliving.com/signup/?site=US&sponsorid=2636414&enrollerid=2636414

Easy Peasy Meals

Between our homeschool schedule, tutorial schedule, preschool, church, and extra curricular activities most days I need super easy meals to fix!  My crockpot has been become one of my BFFs!  She's great!  Put your ingredients in, go on about your day, and then voila!  She's got your meal ready!  Here are a couple of my family's faves.

BBQ chicken- my kids can't get enough of it!  And it is so easy.
1 1/2 lbs chicken
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
And a little coke (helps keep the chicken moist)

My crockpot cooks faster than some so this takes 4 hours on low for me.

Mexican chicken- we use this to make quesadillas, nachos, taco bowls, or burritos
1 lb chicken
1 can rotfl
1 can black beans (drained)
1/2 packet of taco seasoning
*add cream cheese the last 30 mins of cooking to make it creamy

Add all ingredients and cook for 4 hours on low. Shred the chicken with a fork.

What are some of your go to crockpot meals?

Chore charts

November and December was filled with trips, breaks, holidays, family, and lots of fun.  So when January began I knew that getting back into the swing of things could be a bit tricky.  I decided to make chore charts for Makenna and Mason.  They LOVE helping out and being able to see what they have accomplished at the end of the day has been very rewarding for them.
So here is how I made them.  I bought cookie sheets from the dollar tree and then I took the kids to pick out spray paint.  Makenna of course picked one with glitter..she's our sparkly girl :)
They thought it was the coolest thing ever to spray paint their soon to be chore charts!
Then my husband drilled two holes at the top of each pan and I threaded black ribbon through the holes.  I ordered custom magnets from Etsy (love me some Etsy) for a great price!  Here is the finished product :)

Rough start

We signed Makenna up for an "art" program on Mondays...art is one of her loves.  This program sounded great until she got started and we realized something....they do not actually "do" art.  That is very heart breaking for a 6 year old that loves all things art. That means every Monday I basically hold my breath, cross my fingers..you get the picture...and wait for the tears to flow.  She. Does. No. Want. To. Go.
This morning we dropped Mason, our 3 year old, off at preschool and got to work on our school work when we got home.  My poor girl just cried as we worked our way through math, Spanish, and spelling.  When it was time to go to art we made it to the parking lot, but I just did not have the heart to make her go in today...she was right pitiful.  So now we are home making our own mess...I mean art :).

Homeschooling with little ones at home

My almost 1 year old has decided recently to cut his first nap..which of course can make schooling a bit more interesting :). This morning, Jaxon was into EVERYTHING!  I started to get frustrated, but then Makenna and I just had to laugh.  He will not be this small forever...gotta soak it up while I can.  Craziness and all :)

Snowball spelling

One thing I am looking forward to next year is starting a new curriculum.  The curriculum we are using this year (All About Reading and All About Spelling) is extremely repetitive.  That is not always a bad thing, but for my daughter it is. I would switch curriculums now, but since we are in a hybrid school this year my daughter, Makenna, must stay on track with everyone in her "class."  So I tweak and supplement :).

Today is our first day getting back into the swing of things...she was actually excited to get started!  We began with spelling and I wanted to make it fun.  I found this idea for snowball spelling on Pinterest (http://thefirstgradeparade.blogspot.com/2014/01/theres-snow-time-like-winter.html).

She did a great job sounding out each word and writing them down!  Oh and do you see that chair?  I'm wanting to redo it..any suggestions?

A little about me

I am a wife, a mom to three beautiful children, and I am pretty new to the world of homeschool.  Before starting our family I was an early childhood educator.  I remember when I was pregnant with our first child being asked many times if I would homeschool.  I politely smiled and said "no" when asked, but on the inside I was laughing at even the thought of trying!  As my daughter, now 6, got closer and closer to school age I began to entertain the idea of homeschooling.  She is a visual and kinesthetic learner and my husband and I did not feel that public school would be the best option for her.
Having two small boys as well I was very intimidated by the idea, so I decided to enroll her in a homeschool hybrid academy.  The two days that she goes to school have been enjoyable for her, but the other days...not so much.  There is work to turn in each week and it becomes a struggle to get it done because frankly...it is boring and very worksheet heavy.  SO beginning next year I will homeschool full time!  I am excited, a bit scared, hopeful, but most of all I just can't wait for this new adventure!  My desire is to blog about our experiences, lessons, organization (or lack of), and to hear about your adventures as well!
